How to prepare

​

• Ideally, book the test for the morning​

​

• Women should avoid having the test during their period​

​

• Discontinue any topical treatments (creams, pessaries) for the 3 days prior to the test, following consultation with your doctor​

​

• Ensure you stay well hydrated in the days leading up to the test

​

How to collect the sample

​

• Use the sterile container provided by the laboratory

​​

• Wash the genital area thoroughly with a mild cleanser

​​

• Discard the first stream of urine

​​

• Collect the middle portion of the urine stream directly into the container

​​

• Seal the container tightly without touching the inside​

​

• Deliver the sample to the laboratory within 1–2 hours of collection

​

Useful information

The sample must be fresh and delivered promptly to ensure the reliability of the test. Store the container at room temperature and avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
